The chemical company Haltermann Carless has exited its Oxo business and sold its assets in Manvel, Texas. The move is part of the RACE transformation programme, through which the company aims to strengthen its competitiveness. The U.S. market remains a central focus for growth.

Frankfurt a.M., Germany, 14. January 2026 – Haltermann Carless has completed the divestment of its manufacturing facility in Manvel, Texas, USA. The site has been decommissioned and transferred to the new owner. The transaction was completed at the end of 2025.

This divestment is part of the company's RACE transformation programme, which is focused on portfolio optimisation, complexity reduction and targeted growth in high-margin business areas.

Peter Friesenhahn, CEO at Haltermann Carless, said: “The core of our RACE strategy is a stringent consolidation process combined with strategic growth in attractive, high-margin markets. Despite the divestment of the Manvel site, the United States remains a key growth market for us, which we will continue to serve through our strong local subsidiary Haltermann Carless US.”

Dr. Eva Morsbach, Senior Vice President Corporate Development & Sustainability at Haltermann Carless and responsible for this project, added: “We have taken decisive steps to restructure our portfolio by exiting the highly localised Oxo business and closing the Manvel site. This allows us to focus resources on our global product portfolio and invest in advanced technologies, delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-purity hydrocarbons to our customers.”

The Manvel facility, acquired by Haltermann Carless in 2015, specialised in producing Oxo products such as alcohols and esters, primarily serving the pharmaceutical and printing ink industries. The business served customers mainly within the United States. As a commodity business, the Oxo business was identified as non-core to the company’s future strategic direction.

With this transaction, Haltermann Carless continues to execute its RACE strategy to ensure sustainable growth in a challenging economic environment.
